Is It A Rabbit Or a Hare?
There are many different kinds of wild rabbits. A few of them are the cottontail, and the Marsh Rabbit. The Cotton-Tail rabbit is characterized by its buggy gray with white underbelly and rather large ears (to 4 inches), cotton ball tail. The Marsh Rabbit on the other hand has dark chestnut brown fur, rather short ears (about 3 inches), ,The Marsh Rabbits tail is not cottony white like that of the cottontail rabbit.
Rabbits build nests by pulling fur out the babies are born with no fur and their eyes are not open.
Jack Rabbits are really Hares as they do not build a nest. When they are ready to give birth to the young
The mother chooses a place that she feels is safe and the young are born fully furred, with their eyes wide open.
